NAMIBIA | FAMILY TRIP | 2024
We decided to do a family trip to Namibia in February 2024.
Check our itinerary bellow:
- Safari Villa Botique Hotel (Windhoek)
- We Kebi Safari Lodge (South of Windhoek)
- Desert Hills Lodge (close to Sossusvlei)
- Ocean House (Swakopmund)
- Okaukuejo Resort (Etosha)
- Mokuti Etosha Resort (Etosha)

We booked most of the things with Daosa (daosa.com.na/). They have the most beautiful resorts in Namibia and they also have a car rental company called Zaris Car Rental.
Because we went down south, we chose the 4x4 Pick Up. If you plan to go north, towards Etosha only.. then no need for a 4x4.
Using the 4x4 in the dirt roads is much safer and when visiting Sandwich Harbour we were able to use our own car and hired a local guide to drive it, making it much cheaper.

Moledo 2024 - Spot Update

Moledo is a top destination for kite and wingfoiling in the North of Portugal. This year the sandbanks are looking pretty good! Specially in low tide.. We now have a place that you can rent, where it's super close to Moledo but yet far enough to not be affected by wind. Another stormy day in Porto, Portugal. Managed to go to the river Douro for some wingfoiling for a bit and then.. 2nd session in the ocean! Moledo - TwinTip Session | 2023

Moledo is just south of River Minho, or Miño if you are in Spain. Between Portugal and Spain there is this Fort called INSUA FORT. A perfect place to target some jumps on the twin tip.. I took out my 9m along with my Trax carbon from F-one for ride. Check out some of the clips..

With almost 4 hours in the water, I managed to do 3 different sports: Twin Tip; Wing Foiling; Strapless. While waiting for the tide to come out I got to enjoy a bit of everything. The wind in Portugal during the summer time is normally North/West. This means that if you are a goofy footer, you can do lefts with the kite pulling towards the opposite direction of the wave. It's a bit hard, as sometimes the kite pulls to much away from the wave and doesn't allow you to use the kite force to hit the wave.. but, at least there's not much kite movement needed!

Moledo might be one of the best spot to learn wing in the waves. It has an easy access next to the river, where swell doesn't break and allows you glide directly to the waves. Hi Bruno.. Feels like you’re paddling on a longboard! And as such, when waves get bigger, it becomes difficult to duck dive and catch the wave.
Super nice video. Looks like a lot of fun. Also I noticed you surfed a beak near the entry of the port. I always surfed the break further down the beach after the big rock. Which time of year is wind + swell best? I've been to Viana already three times and want to come visit this summer. Obrigado!
Hi Mat.. Bigger swells are coming in the winter, but the north wind is better during the summer. These bigger days are more often in the winter. But not more than 8/10 times. So, really not consistent.. and pretty cold.
Enjoying your videos, spent a few weeks in Viana last summer. Why would you suggest to go to Moledo instead? More waves less crowds ?
Hey! Yes.. more waves less crowds. Not as consistent as Viana though! Sometimes you need to go into the river side, but that’s only good if you’re in a wing.

@@madsteeez i was also a visitor. Respecting the local community is always a must. When waves break exactly at the same place, it’s harder to get some leftovers. However, with a kite you have more chances at scoring a bit more than a handful amount of waves! 🤙🏻

Hey Benjamin, Most of the times yes. But really depends on your weight and kite abilities as well.. If you can have a combination of normal twintip with hydrofoil, you’ll have many more days in the water.

Hey Salim..if it was the regular Mitu, I'd suggest a 5'6''. Because it would be better for some strapless tricks.. But because this one is heavier and not so good for the tricks, I'd recommend the 5'8''. My self, I ride the 5'8'' and I'm super happy.

I was thinking on buying Mitu 5,8 convertible plus ic6. 1,8mts 78-80kg I don’t have experience on foil nor Directional boards.
What do you think as a first kit ?
Hey Sebastian.. i suggest you to first get some experience with the directional board. And then start with the hydrofoil! Also, get the 60cm mast.. it's much easier to start.. but if you can get a 45cm for some time, that's even better.

Hey! The wind is a bit lighter in Esposende..maybe 4/5knots difference. Moledo and Viana are normally stronger.. Esposende is perfect for beginners, and because there’s no waves, people tend to go there on the twin tip! In Moledo, 80% are doing with surf boards..
@@kite.surf.travel I agree, i dislike the fact that u need boats to get to the kitebeach and when I visited it was only 1 day possible to waveride on the other side of the dunes. Might worth a try visiting Moledo. I liked north Portugal though, chilled vibe/weather and outofthisworld prices on food/drinks. Thanks for ure feedback ;)
